Nature of request
The petitioners request a speedy remedy be done and that Sturmy be made to come to answer for the outrages committed by him which are notoriously to the disinheritance of the king, to the great damage of the queen and to the destruction of the forest. Bilkemore received the bailiwick of the westbailey of the forest of Savernake in right of his wife, but has been disturbed in it by Sturmy who has accroached the lordship of the forest and wasted it. The petitioners have sued to the king and the king and his council without success and Sturmy continues his wasting.
Nature of endorsement
Let this petition be ordered by writ to the keeper of the forest of Savernake, that he hear their complaint of things contained in the petition and do right to them.
