Nature of request
Huntingfeld shows that Thorp, who recently died, held nothing of the king in chief, but only the manor of Combs in fee, and he also held of the manor of Horsham from Huntingfeld all of which was found by an inquest by the escheator of Norfolk and Suffolk who seized the lands because of the minority of Thorp. He requests that he can have a writ to the escheator, and that he be able to have the lands which were held in knight service, and Thorp held nothing from the king but in farm.

Dated to 1330 by the heading in Rot. Parl., vol II, p.31 which records that this is from a Hale manuscript of petitions in parliament of 4 Edward III at Westminster after the feast of St Katherine (25 November).
