Nature of request
Segersteyn shows that Haugham wrongfully and without judgement by his office entered her inheritance which lately was Mariney's, and he keeps her out. She requests grace and remedy. Segersteyn further complains that Haugham maintains robbers, namely John del Haye who stole a horse of William Jordan. He was indicted before the coroner, who concealed it against his oath. Segersteyn requests that the king enquire of this by those peers and other good men of the country.
Nature of endorsement
Regarding the trespasses, oppressions, etc. that Haugham made by colour of his office when he was coroner, Rose should sue before those who will be assigned to enquire and hear and determine (oyer and terminer) such trespasses etc. made by sheriffs, sub-sheriffs, etc.Regarding that which touches her inheritance, she is to recover at the common law.

The petition is dated to 1330 by the heading in Rot. Parl., vol II, p.31 which records that this is from a Hale manuscript of petitions in parliament of 4 Edward III at Westminster after the feast of St Katherine (25 November).
