Nature of request
The bishop shows that he and his predecessors have held the fee farm of Hoxne hundred from the king and his ancestors, and they and their bailiffs have had the execution of all things arising in the Hundred, and have had the precepts of all writs from the sheriff. However the current sheriff will not make such precepts to the bailiffs. The bishop requests remedy and that precepts of writs are duly made to the bailiffs.

He should have a writ of Chancery formatted in accordance with his case, and afterwards let the process continue if it is necessary.

The petition is dated to 1328 by the heading in Rot. Parl., vol II, p.13 which records that this is from a Hale manuscript of petitions in parliament of 2 Edward III.
