Nature of request
Simon de Montagu requests the king's grace, for his long service, on the matter of 100 marks, which William Martyn and his companions condemned him to pay as a fugitive, whereas he was in the king's court pursuing his business at the time, and did not know that the justices were in his country; but as soon as he did know he returned, and put himself on the law concerning everything anyone might wish to say against him.
