Robert called le Convers states that he is owed £54 11s. 4d. for sixteen gilded silver cups, taken from him for the queen at the feast of John the Baptist in the thirtieth year of the king's reign, by John de Droxford, John de Godley and John de Sandale. He has a bill for this, sealed with their seals, and has often gone to them for payment, but has been told to go to the treasurer, who has told him to deliver a bill to John de Chaam and his companions, receivers of bills - and thus is he sent from place to place for his money. He requests payment.
Nature of endorsement
Among the king's debts.John de Droxford, John de Godley and John de Sandale are to be called before the council, etc.Those from whom the cups, and other silver vessels, were taken are to have a writ to the clerk of Exchange, that satisfaction is to be made to them from the first issues of the Exchange after Christmas, if not before, for £440, as John of Droxford and John of Sandale attest, and John of Droxford is to be charged with this money in his account, and payment is to be made by the view and assignment of John of Droxford.
