Nature of request
Ralph de Chene states that the king gave him, by his letters patent, 200 oaks in his forests of Darnaway and Longmorn, but that the foresters will not give them to him without the command of the Earl of Carrick, keeper of the forests. He requests a letter to the earl, instructing him to carry out the king's command.
Nature of endorsement
He is to have a writ to the chancellor of Scotland that he is to write to the Earl of Carrick, telling him to deliver 200 oaks to the petitioner.
