Bishop of Aberdeen
Nature of request
The bishop of Aberdeen states that he, his church and his predecessors have been in full seisin of second tithes from time immemorial, and notably in the time of King Alexander, and more recently in the time of the present King Edward, who fully granted these tithes to him, and commanded his Keeper of Scotland beyond the Mountains, and the sheriffs of Aberdeenshire and Banffshire, that he was not to be hindered in his possession of them, or of anything else he had in the time of King Alexander - but the present Chamberlain will not allow him them, without a new command from the king. He requests that the Chamberlain be instructed to allow him to have the tithes, and that he might henceforth enjoy them peacefully.
Nature of endorsement
The king wishes the bishop to have his second tithes, and all the other rents pertaining to his church; which tithes he and his predecessors received in the time of King Alexander. And he is to have a writ on this.
