Abbot and convent of Our Lady of Dundrennan.

Nature of request
The abbot and convent of Dundrennan make four requests:1) They ask that the king might grant and confirm by his charter the gifts and feoffments that they have by charter.2) They request the king's letter of protection, that they might no longer be troubled by lords demanding prises or services which are contrary to their franchises, or by distraints for the debts of others.3) They request a warren in their lands and tenements.4) They put themselves on the king's grace for the damages they have suffered in war, which amount to 8000 pounds and more.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.To the first petition, Roger le Brebanzon, J. de Berewick and the escheator and chamberlain of Scotland have been appointed to examine and investigate their charters, and they are to inform the king on this.To the second, the king has taken all religious into his protection.To the third, the king wishes them to have a warren in all their demesne lands.To the fourth, when the king compensates others for their damages, he will compensate them too.
