Description

de Strivelyn (Stirling), Eve
Addressees

Nature of request
Eve de Strivelyn states that during the war in Scotland, when Stirling castle was besieged by the Scots, she brought food and other things to the king's archers there - as they can attest. She was accused of this by the Scots, who put her in prison for ten weeks and then forced her to abjure Scotland. She requests a letter to the king's Chancellor of Scotland, to reseise her of a messuage and three acres of land in Stirling, which she held during the siege and lost because of her aid to the king's archers, and that the people of her country not be allowed to molest or harass her.
Nature of endorsement
She is to sue her right before the King's Lieutenant and before the Chamberlain, and justice will be done to her; and she is to show before them who the tenant of the messuage and land that she claims is.
