Alexander, the queen's chandler, states that although the king had given him the lands of John le Rous of Macfothel, he has now given and granted them to William de Gourleye, because he falsely claimed to have killed John le Rous - who in fact died a year before the king last came to Scotland. Alexander requests that the truth be enquired into, and a remedy provided for him.
Nature of endorsement
The Keeper and Chamberlain of Scotland are to be ordered that, when they have called the parties before them and heard their arguments, they are to inquire into the truth and inform the king.
