Name(s)
de Flotwayton (Flotterton), Hugh

Nature of request
Hugh de Flotwayton states that long before the war, and in the time of King Alexander, he was seised of a house in the street of Crossgate, Berwick upon Tweed, and also that he served the king in his wars in Wales and Scotland, and was captured at Roslin and paid his ransom. But while he was in the king's service, one John Verite, a clerk of Master John de Weston, by a false allegation made to the king and his council acquired the king's charter for that house - and he still holds it. He requests a letter to the Chamberlain of Scotland, to inquire into his right to these houses, and, if it is found that he has a right, to give him delivery of them.
Nature of endorsement
He is to sue before the king's lieutenant in Scotland, and, when the parties have been called and their arguments heard, justice is to be done to the same parties.
