Nature of request
Michael de Harcla makes two requests:1) He requests a remedy for the arrears of his account from when he was sheriff of Cumberland, as he cannot levy these arrears because of the destruction and burnings wrought by the Scots in this county during that time. He has requested an allowance in his account for this, and has been told that this can only be done on the king's orders.2) He requests that thirty-eight pounds which the king owes him for wool which Henry de Meynvill took from him for the king's use, for which he has a tally, be paid to him, or allowed in the debt which he owes the king.
Nature of endorsement
Concerning the damages that he has sustained, he is to have grace, by a writ of Chancery addressed to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, at the discretion of the Treasurer and Barons.And concerning the wools taken, this is to be examined, and he is to have an allowance in his arrears. And he is to have a writ of Chancery to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer about this.
