Nature of request
Alan, son of Richard de Corbrigg, requests the return of a messuage and three shops, with appurtenances, in Berwick, which he had before the war, but which have since been taken into the king's hand. He claims that he is English born, has always lived in England in the king's allegiance, did service with horses and arms for the king at the taking of Berwick, and has forfeited nothing in the realm of Scotland, for which he should be forejudged more than other good people of England who have lands in Scotland.
