Nature of request
Transcript of a commission from Edward I to Gilbert de Knovill and Reginald de Carteret, appointing them justices in the Channel Islands, to hear and determine accusations, made in various petitions presented before the king and his council, of injuries and oppressions committed against the inhabitants of the islands by bailiffs appointed by Otto de Grandissono.
Nature of endorsement
The attorneys of Otto de Grandissono are to be ordered to have the prior of Wenlock and John de Newent appear before the justices, and the justices are to be ordered to proceed [Endorsement to SC 8/9/419, written on attached document].
