Nature of request
Catherine, widow of Robert the Beysyn, states that her husband sold various tenements in Hughley to Walter Beysyn, who gave them to John de Lacy. He died, and his heir came into the wardship of Roger le Mortymer the nephew, and through his forfeiture, into that of the king. She requests her dower of the tenements which her husband sold, according to reason and the law of the land.
Nature of endorsement
Certain faithful people are to be appointed by writ of Chancery to inquire into whether Robert the Beysyn was seised of these tenements as of fee after he married Catherine, and into the manner and cause of the tenements' coming into the king's hand, and into other circumstances concerning this business. And they are to hold the inquisition in Chancery as soon as possible etc. And what is just is then to be done.

Note
Date given on the evidence of Rot. Parl. JRS Phillips (PROME, Appendix of Unedited Petitions, 1307-1337) says that these petitions probably all do belong to 18 Edward II, although there is no indication that they were presented either at the non-parliamentary assembly of October 1324 or the parliament of June 1325.
