Nature of request
Lewis, Bishop of Durham, states that he has previously petitioned parliament asking the king to do justice to him on the matter of the manors of Barnard Castle and Hart, and other lands in the bishopric of Durham forfeited in the war, and concerning the church of Simonburn and £50 of land in Tynedale, but that these petitions have remained unanswered. He requests that these petitions be answered and justice done to him.

Note
Date given on the evidence of Rot. Parl. vol. I, 418b, no. 8. JRS Phillips (PROME, Appendix of Unedited Petitions, 1307-1337) says that these petitions probably all do belong to 18 Edward II, although there is no indication that they were presented either at the non-parliamentary assembly of October 1324 or the parliament of June 1325.
