Description

Name(s)
de Prestwyche (Prestwich), Alice
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Alice, the widow of Adam de Prestwyche, states that while she was under the king's protection in Chester, under the protection of Oliver de Ingham, Richard Starky, Roger Starky, Henry Starky, William de Legh, Robert de Winnington, William Byron of Macclesfield, John de Bradford, Henry de Newham and various other malefactors from Cheshire took and carried off her goods and chattels to the value of two hundred pounds, from Prestwich and Alkrington in Lancashire. She can have no remedy for this at common law in Cheshire, because the people there do not fear outlawry or any other process made against them anywhere in England. She requests a swift remedy, as she has nothing with which to maintain her estate.

She is to have a writ of trespass.
