Description
Petitioners
Marion Leyngeteyll, widow of William Leyngeteyll of York.
Name(s)
Leyngeteyll, Marion
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Marion, the widow of William Leyngeteyll of York, states that her late husband was robbed at sea by the Flemish of wool, hides and other goods to the value of a hundred pounds, and that an inquest was held on this before the current sheriff of York and returned in Chancery. William was killed at the battle of Myton by the Scots, and she requests a remedy for this property, as she is his executrix and has the care of five children.
Nature of endorsement
Because in this case she can have no remedy except by making a seizure upon the Flemish, by a specific process to be followed for this, and all seizures made and to be made have been suspended by the king and his council until next Easter: therefore she is to wait.

Myton on Swale, [North Riding of Yorkshire]
