Nature of request
Margery, widow of Henry de Orlirton states that her late husband sold a messuage of (sic) eighty acres of land in Ludlow to Roger le Woder of Hereford, who then sold that messuage and land to Phelippot le Cheny, who was taken in rebellion against the king. The messuage and lands are therefore in the king's hand. She requests recovery of her dower, as the lands were not forfeited by her husband.

Note
The petition is dated to 1322 as it seems to be in the aftermath of the failed baronial rebellion, the petition referring to a consequent forfeiture.One of a collection of petitions published on pages 387ff of Rot. Parl., vol I., which all seem to date from around 1322. This dating is confirmed by PROME, Appendix of Unedited Petitions, 1307-1337, Rotuli Parliamentorum I, pp. 387-415, which dates these petitions to 15 or 16 Edward II (1321-1323).
