Nature of request
Agnes, widow of John de Eure, states that after his death his lands were seized into the king's hand by the escheator and other ministers of the king appointed to do this, and they remain there; but some of these lands were purchased by Agnes jointly with her husband, some by fines levied in the king's court before the justices- namely the manor of Stokesley with its appurtenances and the manor of Easby, in Yorkshire - and some by another purchase - Butyford in the bishopric of Durham, and Lynemouth in Northumberland, which were purchased by charter of joint feoffment. She requests delivery of these lands, together with their issues in the meantime.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.She is to show her charters and fines in Chancery, and justice is to be done there.Afterwards it was found by inquisition made on this and returned in chancery that Agnes was jointly enfeoffed with John her late husband of the tenements contained in the petition, and that she continued her seisin of them with him until his death. Therefore the keepers of the lands etc. are to be ordered to deliver them to her, to hold according to the form of the aforesaid feoffments, saving the right of the king and of all others etc. And she is to have the issues etc.
