[The right edge of this petition is missing.]Hugh de Hoghton, formerly receiver of provisions at Berwick upon Tweed, requests a pardon from his account, as all the . . . of the account were lost when the town was lost. If however, it seems that this should not be done, he requests that the king order his chancellor and his clerks . . . privy seal to renew the king's commands, given to Hugh as a warrant, which he lost with his account.He also requests that the king issue letters ordering the executors of John de Weston, formerly chamberlain of Scotland, and the others to whom Hugh delivered the king's provisions on his orders, to renew . . . made for what they have received, or otherwise faithfully to inform the auditors of Hugh's account, according as . . . the king wishes to ordain.

Dated on dorse in modern hand to 1323-7 'Temp. Ed. II, after death of John de Weston' with reference to CFR 1319-27, p.251 - a document dated at Kenilworth, 1323 December 28, ordering the two escheators to deliver the lands of the late John de Weston to his son, another John de Weston, with a note that he did homage on the following 6 March.
