Note
One of a collection of petitions published on pages 387ff of Rot. Parl., vol I., which all seem to date from around 1322, which dating is confirmed by PROME, Appendix of Unedited Petitions, 1307-1337, Rotuli Parliamentorum I, pp. 387-415, which dates these petitions to 15 or 16 Edward II (1321-1323). However, CCR 1323-1327, p.263 (dated at the Tower, 25 February 1325) states that Simon gave the manor to Humphrey de Bohun on the Monday after St Gregory, 13 Edward II, and that he died on 4 March, 15 Edward II. As the petition speaks of 13 Edward II as in the past, but makes no mention of Simon being dead, this would date it between 8 July 1320 and 4 March 1322.
