Description
Petitioners
Thomas Toky; William de Tyderyngton.
Name(s)
Toky; de Tyderyngton, Thomas; William
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Thomas Toky and William de Tyderyngton state that although they were in full and peaceful seisin of a messuage and a carucate of land, with appurtenances, in Seynteleye, of their inheritance, the king's ministers have seized this land because they found eight oxen pastured there belonging to Roger Maiel, allegedly one of the contrariants. They state that they know nothing about these oxen, and request a remedy.

There is to be an inquisition into whether the land was taken into the king's hand for that reason, and if the inquisition finds that it was, the land is to be handed over.
Places mentioned
