The abbot and convent request that they have and be able to use the things given to them by various earls of Leicester in the enjoyment of which they have been disturbed by the king's keepers and ministers who have taken these things into the king's hand on account of the forfeiture of Thomas, late earl of Lancaster.1)
Nature of endorsement
They should show their charters, and the truth of the matter should be inquired into by faithful men to be assigned to this, and the inquisition returned. Let justice be done.2) Coram rege.
