Nature of request
Luffenham shows that he received a collation from the king and from Queen Margaret made for his life of the hospital of St Bartholomew near Oxford receiving from the keeping of the hospital. He complains that by the simplicity of Westbury, the late master, healthy people have entered the hospital and have taken its goods to their own use wasting its assets and mistreated Luffenham. He requests that he be restored to his estate and the hospital be redressed in its estate.
Nature of endorsement
This petition should be delivered into Chancery, and the commissions should be examined, and the process held upon the contents in the petition, and let it be that right be done for the salvation of the hospital.

The petition has to date to the period of mid 1316 to 1320. Luffenham was collated on 18 September 1315, and this petition makes reference to Hillary 1316. Luffenham made a further petition in 1320 which clearly postdates this one.
