Nature of request
Luffenham shows that the king is disinherited of his rights to collate the master of the leper hospital of St Bartholomew near Oxford, which was a royal foundation. The current brethren are all healthy, so that no lepers reside there, and they claim the right of collation. In addition they have ousted Luffenham violently from his position as master. Luffenham requests that the sentence of the pope be removed, and the hospital be restored to the king's estate according to the form of the charters.

He should sue in Chancery before the chancellor who, by reason of his office has the authority to involve himself in the state of the hospital.
