Nature of request
Howel shows that he holds the lands of his cousin who died in prison in the war with Llewelyn, prince of Wales, and which were granted him by the king. However, they were extended by the sheriff beyond the annual rent value which he ought to pay, so that he requests that he should pay the services, dues and customs for which the land was previously held.A further request concerning lands in the king's hand.1)
