Nature of request
1) The community requests that they can have the county court held in one place.2) They further request that they might have a gaol in the county in the same place as the court.3) Further they complain that felons and outlaws enter the franchise of the ports, and are received and maintained there to the damage of the county because those of the ports beat and wound foreigners covering themselves by the franchise to the detriment of the law.
Nature of endorsement
[On the face].1) The sheriff is ordered, following the purport of the petition, that he enquire in which place the county court would best be held, and writs thence delivered all the time that it is in the town of the king. And he is to inform the king in his Chancery, and thence it is ordered that the county court should be held there.2) The king is still not advised of this.3) If men knowingly receive any outlaws within the franchise, there is to be a writ of Chancery that they be taken. Of trespasses and assaults made on foreigners, they are to the common law.[On the dorse].Coram rege.
