Description
Petitioners
Thomas de Warthill.
Name(s)
de Warthill, Thomas
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Warthill requests that he may have a commission and writ of Chancery for the wardship of the lands and goods of his sister. The wardship was adjudged to him following a previous petition in the York parliament in the 3rd week of Michaelmas 1318, but by an insufficiency in the endorsement to the petition, he was unable to get a commission and writ.
Nature of endorsement
Because it is found by an inspection of the rolls of parliament that the response was delivered for Warthill, just as this petition submitted on the matter stated, therefore it is granted, the defect submitted in this petition notwithstanding, that he should have a commission and writ in this regard to him necessary for having that custody.
People mentioned
Alice [de Warthill], sister of the petitioner.
Note
The petition is dated to 1320 by the heading in Rot. Parl., vol I, p.365 for the parliament held on Monday in the octave of St Michael, 14 Edward II.
