Nature of request
The sheriff shows that the gaol and hall where the county court was held is collapsed and ruinous so that prisoners cannot be kept there, and the court cannot be held there without the king ordaining the repair and upkeep of them. The sheriff further states that he is not allowed his costs and necessary expenses for the upkeep in his account. He requests that he be allowed these costs.
Nature of endorsement
The petition is to be handed over to the chancellor and treasurer so that they can arrange for the repair of the gaol and hall according to what they consider expedient for the king.
