Chancellor, masters and scholars of the university of Oxford.
Nature of request
[The petition was part of a longer list of petitions subsequently cut up].The chancellor, masters and scholars request remedy for their grievance as the sheriff and bailiffs of Oxford have not made a proclamation concerning the sale of ale in the town that was ordered by the king.
Nature of endorsement
They should have a writ just as the other, and afterwards they should prosecute the business further as it should appear before the king if it is necessary.

Note
The petition is dated to 1320 by the heading in Rot. Parl., vol I, p.365 for the parliament held on Monday in the octave of St Michael, 14 Edward II. I t must also date closely to the writ (SC 8/3/132B) with which it was formerly enclosed.
