Nature of request
Atte le Wode requests remedy because her and her son were assaulted, imprisoned and their goods and beasts taken by John de Middlemore and others. She has sued 14 writs for the return of the beasts but has been unable to recover them because they have been taken into different counties. She has no legal remedy so she requests grace for the return of the beasts, and an enquiry concerning the trespass.
Nature of endorsement
Justices are to be assigned in Chancery to hear and determine [oyer and terminer] the personal trespasses that were inflicted upon the complainant on account of her poverty etc. and the enormity of the trespasses. And concerning the complaints made of his sheriffs and ministers she should sue against them before the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer, or before the justices before whom she asserts her writs were returned, and justice should be done to her.
