Godwin requests remedy for the delay in the matter of Philip de Columbers' disseisin of her lands, animals, goods and chattels for which the king assigned his justices to take an assize concerning the trespass, but were unable to proceed because the sheriff and bailiffs of the county were unable to bring sufficient men for the assize and inquest, by which Philip and his men remain unpunished
Nature of endorsement
The justices before whom the assize and plea concerning the removal of goods were suspended are commanded to proceed in the business with all the speed that they are able, and they should make to appear in both the assize and inquest knights and other upright and law-worthy men of those parts.
