Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/3/112
Date
[c. 1316-c. 1322]
Description
Petitioners
John de Lancastre (Lancaster).
Name(s)
de Lancastre (Lancaster), John
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Lancastre requests that the king issue a writ to the justices that they proceed to judgement without further delay concerning his suit for a reversal of a fine levied between John de Yeland and Ralph Fitz William and Margaret his wife, because of which Lancaster (the heir of Ralph and Margaret) concerning the fine has sued for 16 years or more, pleading it to judgement.
Nature of endorsement
He should have a writ in Chancery that they should proceed etc.
People mentioned
John de Yeland
Ralph le Fitz Williame (son of William)
Margaret [Fitz Williame], wife of Ralph le fitz Williame.
Note
The petition perhaps dates before 1316, as SC 8/2/111 seems to provide details of why the suit was being impeded. However, if one accepts at face value that the length of delays noted in the two petitions are realistic assessments, and we are certain that SC 8/3/111 does date to 1316, then SC 8/3/112 should date to c. 1322.
