Description
Petitioners
Adam le Clerk of King's Lynn.
Name(s)
Clerk, Adam
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Clerk shows that he sued for the return which he had to the bailiffs of Great Yarmouth for the seizure of the goods of the merchants of Lubeck, Stralsund and Greifswold but Henry Rose, one of the bailiffs there, has obstructed this saying that the goods were not there but in Germany. Clerk requests remedy saying that the goods and ships are not in Germany.
Nature of endorsement
He should purchase a writ of trespass against Henry, or he should sue a writ before the justices assigned to hear and determine trespasses made by bailiffs.

Note
The petition appears to date to 1318, as Clerk seems to have had final settlement from a ship and goods seized from merchants of Lubeck and to be appraised by the bailiffs of Ravenser Odd in October of that year (CCR 1318-23, pp. 20-1).
