Nature of request
1) The burgesses state that the county court of Somerset was held at Ilchester, but was moved to Somerton by the steward of Eleanor, late queen of England to their ruin and of the farm paid to the king. The burgesses request remedy as although the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer were commanded to view the inquest taken into the matter, they have done nothing.2) Copy of a writ of Edward II to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that having viewed and examined the inquisition returned before them they should do what is right for the king and the community of the county.
