Nature of request
Bagod states that whereas Bishop Nicholas with the assent of his chapter granted to Bagod 100s. of rent annually for his life from the vills of Balimone, Baltray and Balicantel, Walter de Haye, the king's escheator in Ireland took the rent into the king's hand because Bishop Nicholas had given the rent to Bagod without the consent of the king. Bagod requests that the king grant a writ to his chief justice of Ireland or his lieutenant and to the escheator that Bagod be able to have and enjoy the rent for his life for the service he did the bishop, and if anything be levied of the rent then Bagod requests restitution.

The king wishes that by his special grace Bagod should have a writ to the justiciar and escheator that if the matter is thus, then the rent should be delivered to Bagod to hold for his life.
