Nature of request
The commons state that in Brabant, Holland and Zeeland in the lands of the duke of Burgundy ordinances have been published prohibiting the sale of all English cloth on pain of forfeiture. Because of the damage that this is inflicting on the English cloth industry the commons request redress and that if the prohibition is not lifted by the feast of St Michael next that no goods from those lands should be allowed to be sold in England on pain of forfeiture.
Nature of endorsement
The king wishes it to last for seven years if due remedy has not been made within the time.
