Nature of request
Aston requests grace and remedy for a debt of £142 which is coming due from him in the great roll of the Exchequer, and is due to Adam de Stratton. He had entered into a recognizance with Stratton at the Exchequer, receiving a quittance for some of the sum, and giving his manor of Aston for 4 years for the remainder. Stratton has since raised double the debt from the manor, but does not wish to make any quittance to Aston, or to anyone else as he can prove.
Nature of endorsement
It is commanded by a writ of Chancery to the treasurer and barons that they should enquire into this. If they find it to be so by the inquisition, then they are to do justice to Aston.

The petition is dated to 1307 on the basis of the dating of Rot. Parl., vol I, p.192, the dating of the memoranda roll being for the parliament at Carlisle on Wednesday in the Octave of St Hillary, 35 Edw. I.
