Nature of request
The abbot and convent state that whereas Henry III, king of England, father of the current king, by his charter granted to them an annuity of 20 marks for the damage that was done in their wood of Putnoe in the time of the siege of Bedford castle, which annuity they were seised of for the life of Henry III; they were also seised of it in the time of the current king in the form according to their charter until now for 20 years. The abbot and convent request that if the king wishes it he should order that the annuity should continue.
Nature of endorsement
The abbot and convent should come by a writ of Chancery to the Exchequer and show their charter and when the annuity was assigned to them, and let justice be done by the treasurer and barons.
