The petitioners show that whereas they, with John de Tingewick jointly purchased 35 acres of meadow and pasture, and one parcel of wood called Priesthay in the vill of Wappenham together with the advowson of the church in the same vill from Henry de Pinkeny, to hold to them from the chief lords. However, the alienation was made without the consent of the king, and the tenements and advowson were taken into the king's hand. The petitioners request to be allowed to satisfy the king for the entry, and to have the tenements and advowson back.1)
Nature of endorsement
The king wishes that the treasurer should take the fine, and that they should have a charter of the king.2) Let it be done by a fine of 20 marks, and the money is to be paid immediately.

Note
The petition is dated to 1305 on the basis of Rot. Parl., vol I, p.159. This can be no later than the 20 April 1305 when the king pardoned the Tingewicks by the fine (CPR 1301-7, p.332).
