- Harcla states that whereas the king granted to him at his parliament in the 33 year of his reign that he should have an allowance of his arrears which he was unable to levy while he was sheriff of Cumberland because of the burning and destruction made by the Scots, he is not able to have the allowance unless the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer are certified of these damages and losses which he has suffered from the Scots. He requests that auditors should enquire of these damages and losses and certify the treasurer and barons so that he is able to have the allowance as the king previously granted.
