Molesworth states that he has been amerced in 100s. before Ralph de Sandwiz, justice of Newgate because he refused to receive the writ of the same justice because it wasn't sealed with the seal of the king in as much as it was contained in the oath that the sheriff swore at the Exchequer that no writs were to be received if they were not sealed with the seal of the king, except a writ of a justice in Eyre, or from a justice of the Forest. Molesworthe prays the grace of the king that he remove and remedy the 100s. which is delivered by a rule in Exchequer and by the order of the justice from a levy from the goods and chattels of Molesworthe in as much as the justice's writ was not excluded by the oath of Molesworthe.

Note
The petition is dated to 1302 on the basis of Rot. Parl., vol I, p.154b (no. 5) which dates this complaint to 1302. As SC 8/1/15 records that the petition was heard in parliament it must have been in one of the two parliaments of 1302, with the writ recorded in CCR 1302-7, p.44 being issued in July 1303.
