Nature of request
Stratton requests that the king and council order the abbot of Westminster and the steward of the convent that they be before them on a certain day to respond to Stratton as to why they will not return a messuage and a carucate of land in Theobald Street in which Stratton was jointly enfeoffed with Adam his brother according to the purport of a charter of enfeoffment. They have allowed their chattels to be removed and made other waste against the prohibition of the king, and he requests that they surcease by the king's writ to the next parliament so that justice can be done between them before the king and council.
