Nature of request
The abbot and canons state that King Henry III father of the lord king had given by his charter to them and their church £10 of annual rent to be taken from the manor of Rothersthorpe and he granted by his charter that he and his heirs should repossess the rent, then they would make a grant to the same value of the rent to the canons, which rent King Henry repossessed when the canons had been seised of it for 10 years, which he did without granting anything else for the rent to the canons. The abbot and canons pray for the king's grace, and for the alms of his father.
