Ministry of Home Security: Research and Experiments Department, Notes

A numbered series of scientific papers concerning scientific research, intelligence, and development activities. Although the papers were prepared primarily for use within the department, some were prepared for interdepartmental committees and other government departments. The series also contains a report on the work of the Research and Experiments Department to July 1941 and numerical and subject lists of the papers. A complete subject index is contained in pieces 1 and 2.

Largely arranged in the order of the original paper numbers. These numbers have been used as item numbers within The National Archives' catalogue references. Note that the order of paper numbers across pieces HO 196/34-41 is disrupted, with items often appearing out of sequence.
