Cumberland to Chesterfield: movements of the enemy. His visit to Tongres. He will send Major General Huske to The Hague to learn the prince of Orange's opinion on winter quarters. He intends to march the British troops towards Breda, and possibly visit The Hague himself. He encloses a letter from the marshal [Bathiani] [SP 87/23/173]. Ligonier is to return a prisoner when six weeks have elapsed if the [French] prisoners have not arrived at Calais, and he encloses a letter from the marquis du Mesnil [SP 87/23/174] to that effect. He himself has written to Saxe on the subject [SP 87/23/175], and has received a reply [SP 87/23/176]. Dated at headquarters at Argenteau. ff. 367-370
