Reports that the House of Assembly felt that it was unnecessary to raise the salary for Colonial Surveyor as there were qualified candidates in Bermuda who would accept the existing salary. Gives an account of an unsuccessful attempt to find a local to fill the position and of the subsequent application of an Irish candidate J H Markham Rae.
