Protest of Roman Catholic Archbishop of the Port of Spain, Trinidad, against the introduction of Civil Marriages; a petition is to be sent to the Colonial Office, signed by a large number of Roman Catholics in St. Lucia against the introduction of Civil Marriages into the island due to the Civil Code Ordinance, 1876, prepared by Des Voeux. See CO321/16/31, 5695/1877.
